A New Class

Yesterday was the first day of Misty Mawn's on line class and I've been looking forward to it for weeks! Here is my first assignment.

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but there always seems to be a point when I'm painting, where I panic and think the painting looks horrible. I've learned that if I keep going, I usually find that the piece gets better. There were a couple of paintings that I did yesterday, that never passed that point of getting better, so I might try again with them today. These 2 were my better efforts, but I'm not sure if I followed the exact directions. I found myself just working with the paints and not thinking. Misty's painting are so soft and pretty, I hope I can learn her technique!
How is your Sunday going?

These are very nice and would make a great background for a collage.
Good job! Keep up the good work!

I too have panic attacks when creating but just keep going. It will eventually turn out to be one of the best yet!

I really like your background for your blog...someday I'll find something!

Your paintings are great...soft and flowing, I've always wanted to paint, I'll get there...

You are a very creative lady, I noticed the wonderful hat you made for your new grandson, as well as the story book and journal!!!
Wonderful work...

I think this makes a wonderful start for a background! I go through those periods, too, where I start out and the beginning is rough for me but then it all ends up coming together. I can also see where you are multi-talented with your drawings and knitting! Enjoy the new grand baby! I'm expecting my first one in about 3 weeks :) My son and his wife are having their first. Have a great day! Marilyn

Hi Debbie!
Hey, this happens to me all the time. Sometimes I give up and just let it go and it actually ends up turning out ok :) I think we put too much pressure on ourselves.
Thanks for your visit, the concert was amazing! SO much talent to see:)

Thanks for visiting my blog! Your backgrounds are very pretty. I enjoyed trying "Misty backgrounds" too. There is always an 'ugly phase' in a painting. You discovered the cure for it - keep on painting. I fight with it all the time...

Debbie,
Remember, when you feel like panic coming on, "no one is watching", there are no mistakes in real art.. and I think you did an incrediable job!
Clapping for you!
