Watercolor and Acrylic Flowers

Goodmorning and Happy Weekend! I missed out on PPF and SS last week, so I'm up early and linking to them both. (SS will be tomorrow) I've been working on watercolors after a couple of girls at the office asked me to bring in a few. Here is some of what I have so far:
The first one is acrylic and the rest are watercolors. I have a few more, but I'm on my way to work. Maybe I can post them later.
Have a wonderful day! xo

New Painting

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans! Last week was my vendor fair and I sold 12 paintings! I was so surprised and pleased! I only sold a few cards, so anyone interested in Christmas cards, please check my Etsy shop later today as I will be adding them to my shop.
The same church that had this fair, is planning one for next Spring, so I am motivated to start working on new ideas for next year already. Here is a new painting:
I'm also going to be working with clay to make birds so check back in the next few days to see how that is going! I'll probably put this painting in my shop, to see how it does, and if it sells, I'll make more like it for the spring show.
I'm linking to Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. (links on the right) I hope you'll join in the fun with me! xo

Painting Interpretation, PPF and SS

Hello everyone and happy Weekend! I was touched by Tammie's beautiful painting last week, and she gave me permission to post her picture and give an interpretation.
Here is what I think her painting says about her: Tammie is a private and reserved person about her beliefs and her friendships go very deep. Other people in her family have similar gifts and talents. She is very wise, loving, and able to connect with people. I really love this painting! Tammie is a very talented artist and you can visit her blog here. Are you interested in an interpretation of your art and what God has to say to you? If so, please leave me a comment and I'll feature you and your art in my next blog.
I've been busy working on more paintings this week for the upcoming vendor fair.(next weekend already!)
This is just a small 5x5 canvas.
This last one is a wip.
I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. (see links on the right) I hope you will visit all the wonderful artist with me this weekend.
Have a wonderful week!

More Cards and Interpreting Art

Hello and happy Weekend once again! I'm linking with PPF and SS and hope you will join me. (see links on the right)
This week I worked on making book markers for the vendor show in November.
I'll cut this up and cover it with plastic.
I also went to several different blogs in response to my new venture into interpreting art. This first painting is by Nic of Nic's Earth.
You can visit her at http://www.nicsearth.com/.
Here is what I came up with after looking at her picture: I think Nik is a spiritual person with a positive outlook and a high destiny to fulfill. I also think she is a strong person. I love this beautiful painting and was so impressed with the style!
The next blog I went to was Linda's. You can visit her here.
Here is the painting that caught my eye:
This is what I learned when I saw it: Linda is a person who is sweet, friendly and loves beauty. She is also a passionate and deep person. I love her painting and the wonderful colors she used!
I next went to Ginny's blog. You can visit her here.
Here is her pretty painting:
Here is what I thought when I saw Ginny's painting: She loves people and has an ability to connect with them. She also encourages others and is a spiritual person. I really love the softness of her paintings!
The next blog is Anne Manda's and you can visit her here.
Here is her painting from a couple of weeks ago:
This is what I thought when I saw Anne's painting. She is a strong person with a desire to succeed. She likes to do new things and has strong beliefs and values. I enjoy seeing her paintings with their incredible detail and colors!
Next I went to Catherine's blog. You can visit her here.
Below is her painting:
Here is what I thought when I saw this painting: Catherine is a bright articulate person, who enjoys new accomplishments. She is a passionate person especially about her life dreams. I so enjoy her lively and fun art and blog!
The last blog I went to was Janice's. You can visit her here.
Here is the painting I chose:
From this painting, here is what I thought: Janice is an upbeat person with a positive outlook on life. She is fun loving and encourages others. I love her watercolor flowers!
I really enjoyed visiting the different artist's and viewing their art with a different perspective this week. I would love to hear back from the blogs I visited to see if you feel I was acurate with my descriptions. If anyone else is interested, I would love to come visit your blog and post about it next week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! xo

More Cards and Something Different

Hello everyone and Happy weekend! I've been working on more cards, some are finished are some are wips, but here is what I have so far:
I'm linking to PPF and SS, and hope you will join me!
I've been taking a class about interpreting tatoos, which has been very interesting. It made me wonder if the same ideas could be used for art. So I want to try out my knowledge but I need a volunteer. Anyone interested? It's free of course, and I would need your permission to post your art on my blog. I would also put a link to your blog so others could visit you.
If your interested either send me an email or leave me a comment and let me know which piece of art you would like me to look at.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! xo

Still Working on the Beach Painting

Good morning, or afternoon if you are from down under. smiles...I'm still working on my beach painting and I've made a few changes and additions.
I'm liking it more and more, and think I'm finished with it. So I'll paint the sides and have my husband spray it with a sealant, then it will hang in our house until I'm ready to sell it. Maybe at my vendor fair this November. I've been busy making Christmas cards for the fair. Here's a few of them.
I've made over 50 cards, and still want to make a few more, maybe another 20?
Well it's off to work for me, but I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches before I go. I hope you will join me! Have a wonderful weekend!!

PPF and SS...I'm Back!

Hello everyone, I'm finally back in my studio, and working like crazy! I was off a couple of weeks ago, and just have been so busy with all the fall birthdays in our little family. All 4 of my grandkids have their birthdays in September and October, plus both of my kids have their birthdays in the fall! It's a really busy time of year, so I just didn't have time for much painting or blogging. Also, I have a vendor fair to prepare for, so I've been making cards etc for that.
While I was at the beach, I came up with ideas for a painting I started, but just wasn't happy with. Here is what I've done so far this week:
What do you think of the added shells?? Should I keep them? I'm still not sure, but I do like the girl a little better, and I have an idea to paint a cool vine I saw at the beach which will probably cover up some of the shells. Also a bird is in the works...hopefully next week, I will have a finished painting!
I'm linking to Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches this week. I hope you will join us!

Still Working on The Big Painting

Good morning and Happy Friday! I'm still working on my first big painting, and I'm not sure if I'm even close to completing it! I just added a new color, so I love it even more then before, but since we are hanging it in our bedroom I really want my husband to love it too.
I love this style, because there isn't any pressure. I just start painting and keep going until it's finished. Sometimes it's just hard to know when that point is! I think I want to make one other change, but I'm letting the painting rest for a week, since we are headed out Sunday to go to Myrtle Beach for the week! I can't wait! My daughter and her family are coming for a few days, and we will celebrate Levi's 4th birthday.
I hope everyone has a wonderful creative week! (I'm linking to Paint Party Friday)

Hello and happy Friday! Below is more of the wip I was working on last week. I'm still not finished, but it's starting to come a long better then last week.
I'm determined to finish it this weekend, since I have an extra day off. Happy Labor Day to my fellow American's and my friends in Canada!
I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketeches this week. (see links on the right) Please join us!

Another WIP

Good morning and Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to another fun weekend, this time with friends in my neighborhood. They are cooking me dinner for my birthday. Yah! Below is another wip, this one is the largest canvas I've painted so far. 24 x 36! I'm only showing a small corner of it, since the rest is pretty chaotic looking.
I added a new painting to my Etsy shop, if you're interested. It's called "She smiles at the future."
I'm linking to Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. I hope you'll join me in seeing what the other wonderful artist's have been making!
Happy Weekend!

WIP for PPF and SS

Good morning and welcome to my submission for Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. I've been busy lately with family so it's been a couple of weeks since I've posted, and there hasn't been much time for painting. But it's all been worth it to spend time with family. My kids and grandkids are coming this weekend to celebrate my birthday with me, so it will be another fun but busy weekend. Here is what I've been working on:
It might take me a while, but I'll be around to visit sometime during the weekend. Happy Friday!

Sunday Sketches

Hello all and welcome to another post for Sunday Sketches! (see link on the right)
I'm still experimenting with this fun style.
I didn't post last week, because we were babysitting 2 of our grandkids. I should have some fun pics to post next week.
Happy Sunday and be sure to go to Alexanders blog to see what other artists have been creating!

Time for Paint Party Friday!

Hello everyone and happy Friday! It's time again for PPF hosted by Kristin and Eva. Thank you to both! Here is my painting for this week:
I'm still having fun exploring this new style. Last week, I was invited to participate in a Church sale held in November. I've never been a vendor before so this will be something new for me! The cost was very low, so even if I don't sell much it would at least help me know what people like, but I'm so nervous too! I've been to these sales before and usually there's at least one vendor that seems to not sell anything! It's almost always the artist! Have you noticed that too?
Well, I haven't turned in my money or my application yet, but I was planning to do that this weekend. I would really like your opinion on this: Should I participate, or give my art more time to develope before putting myself out there?
I'm linking to PPF and SS! (see links on the right) Have a wonderful weekend!

PPF and SS

Hello wonderful blog friends! Thank you so much for your concern and sweet comments about my husband. We are so thankful he is doing well again.
I've had a little time to paint, but haven't had time to work on the new summer of color combo of red and yellow. Hopefully this post will be updated later this weekend with a new painting. Anyway, here is what I've been working on:
I'm heading out to work, but will be checking out the other artist who are signed up for Paint Party Friday. (See link on the right) I'll also be linking to Sunday Sketches later in the weekend. Have a wonderful week everyone!

Gray and Pink for SOC

Hello and happy 4th of July for those living in America! I struggled with the new colors for Summer Of Color, and finally did this quick sketch in my daily journal in colored pencil.
I've also been working on another large painting, for Paint Party Friday. (and eventually my Etsy shop)
I guess my husbands heart attach (he's doing great!) and the fact that his heart stopped twice during the procedure to put in the 2 stints, really inspired most of this painting. It's becme very personal to me, and I know it's not finished yet, but I wanted to share it with my blog buddies.
I'm linking with SOC, PPF and SS and I hope you'll come along with me to see what other wonderful artists have been creating. (all links are on the right) Have a wonderful week!

Another try at SOC

Good morning and welcome to my 3rd attempt at Summer of Color. I started this painting a couple of weeks ago, and realized this morning that it has the colors for the weekly challenge for SOC. (see link on the right if you want to join in!)
It's a good thing since I've been a little busy with my husband lately, and haven't had time to paint. He had a heart attack early Saturday morning, and just came home from the hospital yesterday. He's doing fine, but still needs to stay quiet until the wounds from the surgery heal. It's amazing how quickly the EMS was here and that the Doctor was ready for him and could take him so quickly into surgery. We are so thankful today to the Lord!
I will also be linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches too.
Have a wonderful week!

Week 2 of Summer of Color

Hello and happy Saturday! I'm linking again with SOC (see link on the right) and SS. This weeks colors were hot pink and orange. I love the colors together, but they were so bright on my painting, that I ended up adding white and green to balance it out a little. I am still working on this one, but didn't want to miss the cut off.
We had a sad day yesterday. Our precious cat Oscar passed away very suddenly. Here is a picture of him:
He was my buddy and will be missed!

Summer Of Color

Happy Sunday! I decided to try something new this year, so I'm linking with Summer of Color! (see link on right) Here is my first painting, which were the colors Citron Green & Turquoise.
I'm late coming to the party, but that's because it's Father's Day here in the States! I'm also linking with Sunday Sketches. Happy weekend!

Yah for Friday and PPF and SS!

I'm so glad it's Friday, because now it's time once again for Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches!

I really enjoyed painting both of these pieces in this new style. I still have a little more to do on the first one, its larger then I usually paint. 16 x 20! I'll be heading over to see what everyone else is doing once I link up with PPF and SS! I hope you will join me! Have a wonderful weekend!

Something New for PPF and SS

Hello and happy weekend! Well, it's almost here...smiles. Over a year ago, I found a piece of wood and for the last 12 months its been sitting in my craft room. I found it when we had to move our stuff for the new carpeting we had installed last month, and finally painted it. I had every intention of doing some pretty cone flowers in the shabby chic style, but that's not what I ended up painting!

This wood is solid and heavy, and has many layers of paints, most of them from whoever owned it before me! I added my own layers of paint and some papers. Then I sat quietly for the longest time, and just prayed that God would guide me, as I've been struggling for the longest time to find my own style of painting. This painting is what came out after that prayer! How amazing is that!
I really love this piece and it looks so cute sitting on my mantle. (It's way to heavy to hang!)
I plan to link up with PPF and SS and hope you will join me! (See links on the right) Have a wonderful weekend!

More Poppies

Hello! I guess I'm still on a poppy kick, as I have created yet another poppy painting!
This one is on an artist board, with papers and something new I picked up; gesso for watercolors.

I'm not sure why blogger won't let me turn this picture, but this is not how it looks on my computer! Here is a close up.

If you want to see better pictures, it's for sale in my Etsy shop. I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches this week. (Links on the right) Have a wonderful weekend!

Finally!!

Happy Friday everyone! I spring cleaned a few weeks ago, and found an old painting that I started and never finished. So I gave myself the task of trying to finish it before working on anything new. The reason I never finished it, is because I hated to cover up the background! It was so pretty and now it's been so long sinced I painted it, I'm not even sure how I did it! So here is the painting after a couple of days of working on it:

I still have many ideas for the painting, so I'm glad I found it in my closet! I'm linking to PPF and SS this week! I can't wait to see what the other artist's have been creating!

Poppies!

Hello all! As promised here are a few of the poppy paintings I worked on last week!

It took 3 days of my vacation last week, and over 30 paintings before I finally got a few I liked! But it was worth it. I feel like I know how to use watercolor paints better now. How about you? Done anything new lately? I'm linking to Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. Come along with me to see what the other artist's have been making!
Have a wonderful weekend!
