WIP for SS

Good morning! We just got back from church, and saw our prayers answered today! A college student was missing, and his parents were organizing a search party today. We spent most of our service praying, and just as we finished, we got word that he was found! Yah and hallelujah! Talk about a happy ending! I hope your prayers are being answered today too! People around the world have been praying for the people who were in the path of Sandy this last week. Many people still have no power and cold weather is in the forecast. We are praying for them too.
Below are a couple of my paintings I'm working on:
I'm linking with Sunday Sketches and hope you will join me in seeing what the other artists are creating! (see link on the right) I'm also linking with Blogland for the first time!

Paint Party Friday & Sunday Sketches

Hi everyone! I finished my painting from last week, and I had so much fun painting her I really was sorry to finish!
I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches this week. (see links on the right) I hope you will join in the fun!
I read recently that if you have problems with urinary track infections, you could try D-Mannose. It's a sugar that keeps bacteria from sticking to the wall of the bladder. Interesting to me, since my mom has this problem! I'll let you know if it helps her!

WIP for PPF & SS

Hello everyone! I started this new painting this week with a fall theme:
I can't seem to get enough of pumpkins! It's hard to see in the sketch, but the girl is holding one, and the field behind her is full of them! Fall is such a pretty time of year, and orange is one of my favorit colors, so I'm anxious to finish this painting.
I've been reading lately about a supplement called curcumin. If you haven't heard about it, it reduces inflamation, and may help to ward off several illnesses, including cancer and Alzheimers. Since my father had Alzheimers, I decided to start taking it recently. I'm thankful that God has created natural cures and helped people to find them.
I hope you are all blessed with good health! Have a wonderful weekend!

Fun Painting for PPF and SS

Hello all! It's been a busy week around here. Last weekend we had company (my in-laws) and we celebrated my son and grandsons birthdays! I was working on this painting, but didn't finish it until today.
Here are some up close pics:

PPF & SS Completed Painting

Happy Sunday everyone! I finished my painting from last week, and I love it!
I painted this on an Ampersand wood panel. I love this type of canvas! It was perfect for the mix of watery acrylics, paper, ink and water pencil. I could easliy sketch on it and erase, no problems. I'm sure I'll be buying this one again! I'm liking with Sunday Sketches today, and I hope you'll join with me in checking out the other talented artists! Have a good week!

Finished Painting for SS

Good morning! I was at the beach a week ago and I didn't get a chance to post this painting that I started a couple of weeks ago:
I can't wait to give it to my youngest granddaughter on her 1st birthday in October! Last weekend, was my grandson Levi's birthday and today is Ashlyn's birthday! All 4 are in the fall, so I will be plenty busy celebrating and eating cake! I worked on a quick sketch which at the beach and it might turn into an oil painting.

Some Completed Some Not

Good morning and Happy Labor Day to all my fellow American's! Some of my family were here last weekend for my birthday, so it's been a while since I've posted. Here is what I've been working on, some are finished, and some aren't and some I'm at the "I'm not sure yet" stage:
This last wip, is going in my youngest granddaughter's room:
And here is the sketch for the girl I'll paint on this background:
It's hard to see, but she's a fairy holding a sign that says "Josie's Room." I bought some really cute wings a couple of years ago that would be perfect for her, but I've been searching for them in my room, and they seem to be lost. I can't imagine why...it can't be all the stuff I've accumulated in the last several years, can it? I think I could spend the next 60 days straight, just going through my stuff, throwing things out and selling stuff, and still not feel organized. It's my goal to start cleaning, after I return from the beach next week. Ha! I think I've said this before! I'll do it next weekend, or next month, or my new years resolution is to clean this room! Arrrgh! I really need to stay committed this time. I'm linking to Sunday Sketches this week, and I'll be popping around to see what the other artists have been making! I hope you'll join me! (see link on the right) Have a wonderful week!

Painting and Poetry

Good morning! I worked a little more on a painting I started last week...it still isn't finished. Mostly because I'm still obsessing on Ancestry.com! Here is my progress so far:
I also tried my hand at another poem: The fog covers the river and trees. Come closer and it reveals more. A beautiful woman wearing a shear vale Teasing us with her beauty. There is something so mysterious and beautiful about early morning fog. I love driving to work on a foggy day, and peering into the misty trees. It reminds me of God; how if we draw closer to him, he reveals more of his nature to us. I'm linking with Sunday Sketches and hope you will join me! Have a wonderful week!

More WIPS and Finished Painting

Good morning and happy Sunday! I missed out on blogging last weekend, due to a new obsession of mine! Ancestry.com! Has anyone else tried this? It's fun, but very time consuming so I haven't had time for blogging or much painting either. I did finish the last project I was working on and already found a home for it with a good friend from work.
I also started these 2 projects:
I must be in a blue/green mood lately, as I seem to reach for those colors over and over. Well, here is something a little different, and I'm not at all sure where I'm going with it!
I also started a new class this week with Misty Mawn and she has been encouraging us to try writing poetry. This is something completely new for me, as the last time I remember writing any poetry, I was in the 4th grade! Here is what I've written so far: I wanted wings to fly to make my trip go faster. But my wings were made of cloth. So instead I wrapped them around me and walked. I met two others who were walking too. So we walked together, talking. At the top of the hill I looked down and saw my family. My companions and I arrived together, laughing. I'm sure it needs a lot of work, but it was fun trying something new, something out of my comfort zone. Funny, but that's what church was about today...learning to do things that you aren't always comfortable with, doing something new in whatever area the Lord might lead you. How about you? Done anything out of your comfort zone lately? I'm linking with Sunday Sketches and hope you will join me! Have a wonderful week!

Finished Painting for SS

Good morning! I'm linking with Blue Chair Diary Illustrations for Sunday Sketches this week. (See link on right) The painting below was started earlier in the week and I finished it yesterday. She's confident of the future because the creator of the universe is watching over her!
Here are some close up shots of the texture in the background.
I'm thinking of selling her either on Etsy or Ebay. Does anyone have any advice on which is better? Happy Sunday and have a wonderful week!

Sunday Sketches

Good morning! I've been working on this painting for a week now, and I think I still have a few corrections to make, but here is what it looks like so far:
I'm calling this painting "She can laugh at the days to come" from Proverbs 31:25. We all have worries in our lives, but when we trust God, we can look at the future and have peace knowing He is in control. I'm linking with Sunday Sketches and I hope you will join in the fun!(see link on the right) Happy Sunday!

Finding a New Style

Happy Sunday and welcome to my submission for Sunday Sketches, hosted by Alexandra. (see link on right) Below is a new style I've been trying out.
I liked this so much, I've started another painting:
