Good morning and Happy Sunday! My husband bought me 2 new classes for my upcoming birthday next month! Animalitos with Tracy Verdugo and Happy Painting with Juliette Crane. I haven't finished either class, but I've tried a few paintings in my journal. The first is from Tracy's class; what a talented lady!
The next are from Juliette's class, which has been fun, but her style is not that easy to pick up on. Not that I want to duplicate her exact paintings, but just learning the looseness that I love about her paintings is difficult. This first one is my favorite, although I wasn't happy with the leaves in the tree.
This next was a little too brown, and I was sorry I covered up too much of the blue. At least the flower and sun are cute!
And the last is just a little scary! The only part I really like is the background and her dress. Oh well, I just have to keep trying. I always think I will learn something the first time, but it always takes more practice.
At least practicing is most of the fun! Lol!
I haven't mentioned that my son is expecting his 3rd child in February! Part of the reason for learning to make animals, is because I wanted to make a new book for the baby, like I have the other 4 grandkids. I don't really have any solid ideas yet, but my next animal will be a deer. I'll show you next week how it turned out!
I'm heading out for a walk with a friend, and will be around to visit once I return. As always, I'm linking with Sunday Sketches! Have a great week and God bless!xo

I think it's so exciting you are taking classes and getting excited and motivated in your art. I've been doing watercolors for years, but have my dry spells.... I was in one for a long time, and just recently have joined 3 different art groups on line. Creative Tuesdays, Sunday Sketches, and Show your Face. Yeah back at the drawing board.
Like any thing else... practice, practice, practice. You have a really good beginning with these projects your done. You go girl.
By the way.... I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and want all I do give him the praise... any talent I have is from Him. Blessings!

lovely work you did for the courses Debbie, sounds like you learned a lot!
All very creative and great that you are able to critique your own work and see what you need to do ~ What a great hubby giving you artistic birthday presents!

Too bad I don't have a husband ;) :D
I like all your drawings, don't you
worry too much about them! I'm a learner
like you and I always think I have to
give excuses :) But it's not necessary :))
Have a beautiful day!

Oh Debbie. I have just become enthralled with illustrating scripture. I am not much of an artist but like you I am in love with the process. Your work is delightful.
I am visiting all the links. I'm hoping to join! It was nice to meet you.
I am following you. Oh and congratulations on the new classes! How sweet of your husband!
Have a Blessed Sunday.
