Oil & Water

Good morning and Happy Sunday to all! It's beautiful outside, but freezing cold here in South Carolina. The temp right now is 32! Yikes! We are not used to the cold temps we've been having lately, so staying in and painting is good! I had a sketch from over a year ago, and finally got brave enough to start painting it with oils. Not a medium I'm comfortable with, but after trying it last week with my granddaughter I was ready to try it again! This is my grandson, Levi:
I'm also interested in expanding my knowledge of watercolor, so I bought a book to help me along. I've painting flowers, but never a whole painting with layers.
I also signed up for Wyanne's watercolor class, and I'm so excited to be learning from her again! She's a wonderful talented artist and just a really nice person. I was so happy to hear she is at home and doing better after her recent surgery. I've been praying for her for weeks, since hearing she was sick. But God is good and he is healing her body.
I'm linking with Alexandra, another wonderful artist! I hope you will join in the fun and see what other artists have been creating this week! xo

Hi Debbie. It is cold in Georgia too. But we both know it won't be too long before it is warm again.

I love both of your pieces. How nice to have a painting that you did of your grandchildren.I bet they love to see themselves in your work.

ah, such a sweet painting of your grandson.

Watercolors are fun, i am learning too and began with Wyanne's class. They seem playful to me.

I agree, so happy that Wyanne is home and healing.
