She's Holding onto Hope

No matter what life brings us, when we have God, we always have hope. This is what I was thinking about, when I finished this painting. You might have seen the beginning of it while I was taking Misty's class last fall.

I was going for a bleak look to the landscape, sky, and even in her dress. I'm not sure if I was able to convey that, but I always learn more with each painting I do.
Have a good week!

Hey Debbie...great painting...you've managed to get the bleakness across!!!
What a great sense of accomplishment when people can see what we are trying to do because it comes to painting and drawing...
I signed up for Misty's class that started on the 15th January...I've always felt as though I should be painting...don't know why just do...I also felt Misty could teach me a great deal...I know she will!

Cheers

Was going through various art blogs this evening and this particular piece made me stop and comment. There's a tender poignancy in the girl's expression, in how she holds tightly onto the heart, in the uncertainty of wind direction as the chimney smoke blows one way and the girl's hair another. Yet she knows it will be all right. Awesome work!
