Sunsets

Happy PPF and SS! I'm linking to both this weekend. I hope you will join me in checking out the other wonderful artists work!
I've been trying to find the right medium to use in painting the beautiful sunsets we've been having lately. Here are just a few: First I tried acrylics...

It was a little too bright!
Next I tried acrylics with oil pastels...

Not bright enough...
Water colors were next. Here is just one of the many I painted:

Better, but I still had one more mediuam to try...pan pastels!

I love this one! I had forgotten how easy pastels are to use! I only wish I had a better color for the bottom...hmm I'm sure I'll be adding to my pan pastels sometime soon!
Have a wonderful weekend!

It is amazing how using different mediums can bring a completely different sunset. Love them all. HPPF :)

I received some pan pastels for Christmas. I love their blending qualities almost as much as I love watercolor.
Adore the sunsets - ours have been as colorful lately !

Water colors are very nice for sunsets! Alternately you could water down the acrylics and treat them like water colors as well. :)
