Picture for my Daughter
Hello all! I'm starting my post for Sunday Sketches early, since we will be on the road to my daughter's tomorrow. I'm taking her this painting:
If you remember the painting I was making for my husbands birthday, this one looks a lot like it. He liked it with just the blue background and branch, so it's hanging up in our kitchen! I really wanted to put birds on it, so I made this painting as a gift for Tori!
I worked a little more on my oil painting too!
I'll be heading over to Alexandra's blog to see what the other wonderful artists have been creating this week! I hope you'll join me on Sunday! Have a great week!

Something Old, Something New...
Good morning! I finally got brave enough to try oil this past week and I love it! My daughter in law let me borrow her oil paints and I took an old painting in water color and put it on a canvas. Here is my wip:
Here is another picture at an angle.
It might be hard to see, but the oil paints have such wonderful thickness and texture. They go on so creamy and smooth...the only problem of course, is how long they take to dry. I read on the internet today, it can take over a month for all of the layers to completely dry! In the meantime, I painted a couple more pieces of wood.
I'm heading to church now, but I'll be around to see what the other artists for Sunday Sketches (see link on right) have created this week. Have a lovely Mother's Day!

Oil Pastels, Pan Pastels, Sketch and Acrylic Paintings
Good morning and welcome to this weeks submission for Sunday Sketches! (see link on right) I have several new projects I've been working on, in many different mediums! The first was done in pan pastels in my new journal:
This page was done in acrylic:
I've also been playing around with my oil pastels in 3 luscious colors:
I still have many more layers planned for this abstract painting.
My most current wip painting is in acrylics and I'm hoping to give it to my husband for his birthday in June.
Here is the sketch I'm using:
And finally, another piece of wood has made it to my desk. I've only worked on 1 side, and it's not quite complete:
I'm on vacation this week and have only a couple if things planned which means a lot of free time to play in my craft room!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday and great week!!
