Sunday Sketches
Hello all! I'll be linking with Sophia's Sunday Sketches today! (see link on right) Below are some projects I've been working on. The first is my new art journal.
The next 3 are a piece of wood that I've painted:
I got the idea of painting on a cut up 2x4 from Junelle's class, "The Art of Wild Abandonment." It's been such a fun class, I hated to see it end! She is such a sweet person, and has such cute ideas!
This last painting is another attempt to do an abstract painting. I would have enjoyed it more, if the black would have gone on darker. Maybe next time, I'll try watercolor paper instead of a canvas.
That's all I have for this week! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and a good week!

Paintings, Ink Sketches, and Plaster?
Good morning and Happy Sunday to everyone! I'll be linking with Sophia's Sunday Sketches today, and I hope you will join us! (link on the right) Below are a few projects I've worked on in the last couple of weeks. The first is called "Waiting on the Lord" taken from Psalm 40:1-3.
It's so hard sometimes, to pray and then just wait and wait for an answer. I've been praying the same prayer since 2006, but still have not had an answer. Has anyone else waited and waited? I know God hears our prayers and he will answer when the time is right. It's the waiting that's so hard.
Below is an ink and marker drawing from my prayer journal I wanted to share. A couple of years ago I read a book called "Praying in Color" I started my first prayer journal and really enjoy it. I draw early in the morning before I've really woken up, so sometimes it's a surprise what comes out of my pen! Here is one from last week after taking Alisa Burkes Abstract class.
Another abstract, done in paint this time, while trying to convey an emotion.
And finally, I started this plaster painting several months ago and really didn't like how it was turning out. So like a lot of my paintings, it sat and sat and...well you know what I mean. I finally decided just to go with it and see if I could somehow "fix" it. Here is the result.
The thing I love the most is the awesome texture:
I can't wait to try again, only more abstract.
Well, I've got a new journal I'm working in, so I hope to have pictures to share from there next week!
Have a wonderful week everyone!

Yeah for Sundays! (& SS!)
Hello everyone and Happy Sunday! I'm linking with Sunday Sketches this week, and I hope you will join in the fun! (see link to the right) Below are some sketches I've been working on for cards to send to my Mom.
I can't take all of the credit for the adorable sheep! I'm taking Junelle's class and she is a sheep lover! I adored her cute paintings so much, I had to try 1 of my own.
Here are a couple of small canvases I've completed. (cupcakes inspired by the class!)
and below is the completed journal page I posted a couple of weeks ago.
Finally, I'm working on a new crocheted stuffed animal for my granddaughter Ashlyn for Easter.
I had company the last 2 weekends, which is why I haven't posted in a while. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has been creating! Have a wonderful week!
