Paintings, Ink Sketches, and Plaster?

Good morning and Happy Sunday to everyone! I'll be linking with Sophia's Sunday Sketches today, and I hope you will join us! (link on the right) Below are a few projects I've worked on in the last couple of weeks. The first is called "Waiting on the Lord" taken from Psalm 40:1-3.
It's so hard sometimes, to pray and then just wait and wait for an answer. I've been praying the same prayer since 2006, but still have not had an answer. Has anyone else waited and waited? I know God hears our prayers and he will answer when the time is right. It's the waiting that's so hard. Below is an ink and marker drawing from my prayer journal I wanted to share. A couple of years ago I read a book called "Praying in Color" I started my first prayer journal and really enjoy it. I draw early in the morning before I've really woken up, so sometimes it's a surprise what comes out of my pen! Here is one from last week after taking Alisa Burkes Abstract class.
Another abstract, done in paint this time, while trying to convey an emotion.
And finally, I started this plaster painting several months ago and really didn't like how it was turning out. So like a lot of my paintings, it sat and sat and...well you know what I mean. I finally decided just to go with it and see if I could somehow "fix" it. Here is the result.
The thing I love the most is the awesome texture:
I can't wait to try again, only more abstract. Well, I've got a new journal I'm working in, so I hope to have pictures to share from there next week! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Oh your prayer request, yes this as happened. I prayed for help in my depression as I was wanting to end my life but at the same time I didn't I was crying our for help. Then one day it came to the crunch.. I prayed "God if you don't change the way my mind thinks I'm going to die" It was this that I felt a loving wash come over my body and I started to live stronger, my old self. It sometimes asking the direct thing that you need. Knowing what you need is sometimes our blanks.. It was only at the tip of turning I realised what I needed and God answered. Go into to your heart and mind and know exactly what your beliefs are about yourself and the world, to see what you really need. Its like knowing your own soul. Remember Jesus said God is within you and in the Bible it shares "ye are gods" God is omnipresent, in everything and everywhere. Your are a part of the living God. You have the answers within you. Go inside!
Loads of love! Hope this helps, sent with love! Julie

Sacred geometry within your art! Your painting the sun too. If you imagine yourself inside the sun you can expand your awareness. God is in everything and the sun holds much of God's energy. I think you are telling yourself through your art the answers. Look at what you have painted your girl on! You are your art, your art is alive and God is in everything! Much love!

hello Debbie,
i love the top one with the woman sitting on the sphere, so lovely.
each piece is wonderful.

this morning i picked up a book about angels and read a page on prayer. it spoke of how the universe does not understand lack, as in wording things in negative. so to word things as if they already exist. "thank you for assisting me with clarity on this situation". just sharing because your questions and my book were moments apart. sending light

You've been busy! Waiting on the Lord, especially, is a wonderful piece. I'm afraid I'm not very patient, even when waiting on the Lord. I'm so glad that he is infinitely more patient than I am!
