This painting started out to be all daffodils, but something happened to the larger one and it started to look more like a sunflower...so I went with that instead.
I don't think this one is finished, as I'm not real happy with the background. I tried the alcohol technique and even though it was fun to watch the paint move around, I'm just not sure if it looks like rain. The story on this painting is taken from the verse in Psalms 91:4, "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge..." The girl is so troubled over the storm around her, she forgets to look up and see that God is in control and protecting her.
We got to babysit our grandson Grant yesterday and played with him in the sprinkler. It was so much fun! Today we are off to our daughters house to see our youngest grandson's dedication service at the church.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!

Lovely paintings, especially the yellow flowers. Yellow alsways looks so cheerful.
Have a blessed day today and Happy Mother's Day to you and yours.
Hi Deb!
The painting look great!
Enjoy your day!!
Lovely! I love how art takes its own direction even when you have plans for her :-) Reminiscent of van Gogh - my daughter plans to do a sun flower van Gogh rendition this summer so she is interested in this!
Debbie,
your drawings/paintings are lovely! I love your color choices on these.
Happy Mother's Day! :)
very nice. I like the sentiments and emotion of the last painting....
Lovely paintings Debbie...I think we should let our paintings go where they take us...makes for interesting paintings I think!!!
What is the alcohol technique???
It must have been great fun to play in the sprinkler with your grandson...they grow up so fast!!!
Cheers
I like the serene feeling of the lady, such a sweet painting.
I don't think any work is ever finish, it's a process, I think
lovely paintings, anyhow
i think that both of your pieces turned out beautifully! i love it that your daffodil turned into a sunflower....a true illustration of what art is all about! and your Psalm piece is absolutely perfect!! i'm glad you had a great mother's day! :))
