Good Morning! I had a stressful week, which is why I came up with this sketch...my reminder that He is always with me.

I'm on vacation this week, so no stress going on now! :)

Sunday Sketch

Good morning all! I don't have a new sketch this week, but I painted the flowers from last week.


It turned out ok, and I might try again on canvas instead of in my journal. Below is a finished painting that I really love.

I wish I could visit that little hill and stare up at the stars. We were supposed to be able to see the super moon last night, which only occurs once every 18 years, but it got too cloudy to see anything. Did anyone else see it? In case you didn't hear, the super moon just means that it was a full moon and closer to the earth then usual.

Sunday Sketch and Baby News!

Good morning all and welcome to this weeks entry for Sunday Sketches hosted by Sophia. (see link to the right) I couldn't resist these beautiful tulips at Harris Teeter yesterday.

And here is my quick sketch I did in my journal, which I hope to paint later today:

I made a few changes to a painting I posted a few weeks ago, after Wyanne critiqued it, and here is how it looks:

And now for the baby news...Yes! My daughter Tori and her husband Dean are expecting their 2nd child in October! Here is the way they told us when we went to visit 2 weeks ago:

This will be our 4th grandchild! We are so blessed! Have a happy Sunday everyone!

A finished Sketch

There won't be any Sunday Sketch this week, due to an illness in Sophia's family. Her father is very sick and Sophia would appreciate your prayers. I have my sketch finished from last week, so I thought I would share it.

Today is my son in laws birthday party, so I'll be heading out shortly to go spend time at their house. I'll visit everyone when I get home. Have a wonderful Sunday!

New Sunday Sketch

Sunday Sketch

I painted many layers then added stamps and collage. It's a little different then my usual style, but it was fun to just let loose a little and not think too much.

Sunday Sketch

Hi everyone! I've worked for several days on finishing my sketch from last week, so I don't have a new sketch. I may still make a few changes, but here is my painting so far.

A friend at work lost her father just before Christmas. One of the last things he said to her was that he saw birds in her eyes. As a Christian, she and I both thought about the holy spirit and think he might have seen a vision, just before leaving this earth. This was the inspiration for my painting.
