I've been working on this painting for a couple of weeks. I had so many attempts that just didn't look right, and it wasn't until I glued her down on the wood, that I noticed this time I had made her neck a little long! Yikes! It was fun painting her and using my molding and crackle paste. Deborah is who I was named after, and I've always found her story to be interesting. She was a judge who was also a mother...hence the title, working mother! I think she may have taken her kids to work with her and that's why she met people out under the trees, but that's just my idea, and not exactly what it says in the Bible. You can check out her story in Judges in chapters 4 and 5.
My irises are blooming next to my mail box and they look so pretty! I transplanted them last year, so I wasn't sure if they would bloom this year.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

I like the peacful impression on Deborah's face and I'm a big lover of trees, so this painting looks really good to me.

I love her neck and I think it adds interest that to not be perfectly proportioned. Its a great painting!
Funny isn't it how we are so critical of our own work, when others see nothing but the beauty in it & beautiful Deborah is!!!
