Something New for PPF and SS

Hello and happy weekend! Well, it's almost here...smiles. Over a year ago, I found a piece of wood and for the last 12 months its been sitting in my craft room. I found it when we had to move our stuff for the new carpeting we had installed last month, and finally painted it. I had every intention of doing some pretty cone flowers in the shabby chic style, but that's not what I ended up painting!


This wood is solid and heavy, and has many layers of paints, most of them from whoever owned it before me! I added my own layers of paint and some papers. Then I sat quietly for the longest time, and just prayed that God would guide me, as I've been struggling for the longest time to find my own style of painting. This painting is what came out after that prayer! How amazing is that!
I really love this piece and it looks so cute sitting on my mantle. (It's way to heavy to hang!)

More Poppies

Hello! I guess I'm still on a poppy kick, as I have created yet another poppy painting!
This one is on an artist board, with papers and something new I picked up; gesso for watercolors.

I'm not sure why blogger won't let me turn this picture, but this is not how it looks on my computer! Here is a close up.

Finally!!

Happy Friday everyone! I spring cleaned a few weeks ago, and found an old painting that I started and never finished. So I gave myself the task of trying to finish it before working on anything new. The reason I never finished it, is because I hated to cover up the background! It was so pretty and now it's been so long sinced I painted it, I'm not even sure how I did it! So here is the painting after a couple of days of working on it:

I still have many ideas for the painting, so I'm glad I found it in my closet! I'm linking to PPF and SS this week! I can't wait to see what the other artist's have been creating!

Poppies!

Hello all! As promised here are a few of the poppy paintings I worked on last week!



It took 3 days of my vacation last week, and over 30 paintings before I finally got a few I liked! But it was worth it. I feel like I know how to use watercolor paints better now. How about you? Spring Gardening!

I'm on vacation this week, and so far it's been all about gardening and spring cleaning! I've spent 3 days pulling weeds, and planting flowers and vegys. I actually have a blister on my hand! Here are the gardens I've worked on:

When Did You Get So Tall?

Hello lovely blog friends! I'm on vacation next week! Yah! I have so many things to do around the house and yard, I hope I'll have time for art. It's spring, so the house is getting cleaned, and we are having new carpet put in too. I hope to coax some veggys out of my garden, and get rid of the many weeds around my flower beds. Whew! If I get all that done...well, we will see. I have big plans anyway!
After seeing my sisters a couple of weeks ago, I realized that my youngest sister has gotten taller then me! We were the same height for a while, but she grew another inch in her 20's!

I'm also working on something new, so I really have to make time to finish it next week.
