Poppies!

Hello all! As promised here are a few of the poppy paintings I worked on last week!



It took 3 days of my vacation last week, and over 30 paintings before I finally got a few I liked! But it was worth it. I feel like I know how to use watercolor paints better now. How about you? Spring Gardening!

I'm on vacation this week, and so far it's been all about gardening and spring cleaning! I've spent 3 days pulling weeds, and planting flowers and vegys. I actually have a blister on my hand! Here are the gardens I've worked on:

When Did You Get So Tall?

Hello lovely blog friends! I'm on vacation next week! Yah! I have so many things to do around the house and yard, I hope I'll have time for art. It's spring, so the house is getting cleaned, and we are having new carpet put in too. I hope to coax some veggys out of my garden, and get rid of the many weeds around my flower beds. Whew! If I get all that done...well, we will see. I have big plans anyway!
After seeing my sisters a couple of weeks ago, I realized that my youngest sister has gotten taller then me! We were the same height for a while, but she grew another inch in her 20's!

I'm also working on something new, so I really have to make time to finish it next week.

Sister's Weekend and Birthday Party!

Last weekend, I went to MD (right outside DC) to have a birthday weekend for my sister who turned 50. I have 7 sisters, but only 5 of them made it for our first ever sister's weekend! (there are 12 siblings in my family...) I wanted to make something special and as promised, here is the painting I made for the birthday girl, Mary.





I painted us in birth order, and Mary is the 5th sister from the left. I'm the 4th. I loved making this painting so much, and seeing her face was worth all the hard work. Here she is opening the gift:

We had such a fun weekend, that we are already planning our next trip together.

Trying Something New

Hello and wecome! Once again, I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches this week. (links on the right) I hope you will join in the fun!
This week was all about the sunrises here in South Carolina. I saw the prettiest one on Monday, and couldn't wait to come home from work and try painting it, this time in oils. For those who visit my blog, you may remember I tried painting sunsets in almost every medium, but I didn't have a chance to try oils. (you can read about it HERE.) So, here is my first attempt:

I've worked on it each day, so I'm not sure it's finished!
