Sunday Sketches

Hello and happy Sunday! It's looking like a sunny day here in South Carolina! Which is nice, since we have had several cloudy days in a row. Thinking of the weather reminds me of the people who have lost their homes and loved ones here in the states from the terrible tornado's we've had recently. I'm praying for them today, and I hope you will join me.
Below is a bird I saw while in Florida recently. I decided to give him an interesting background. but I feel like he needs more depth, so I'm not sure if I'm finished with him. He's a blue heron, which are very popular in Florida.

Below is the painting I had a background for last week, now finished!

"Rejoice" reminds me to find joy in each day. I am so blessed with my family, friends, job and so much more. I have much to rejoice about!
This last painting is one I just started yesterday. So far it's just paper and tissue paper on a 5x7 canvas panel.

I found a great deal at Michael's yesterday! These 5x7 canvas panels were on sale for 4.99, but the only package left was missing 1 panel. The store gave me another .50 off, so I only paid 4.50 for 14! I'm get so excited about great deals! How about you?
That's all I have today! I hope you'll visit Sophia's blog and visit other wonderful artists! Have a good day and week!

Something old Something new

Good morning! I have a couple of projects that I showed you last week, that are finished.

I think I'll cut this next one in half and make a card for my mom. She's been approved for her knee surgery in March.(she's 87!)

Here are a couple of wips:

This final painting is only 6x4. I'm trying to make something small after joining Mystele's Community Hub. You can check out her website here: http://littleglimpsesstudio.ning.com/

That's all I have for today! I'm leaving soon to go to my daughters for the day. It was my son-in-laws birthday this last week. It may be later today, before I can visit other blogs! Also, I'm linking with Sunday Sketches! (see link on the right) I hope you'll join us and see other artists work!
Have a wonderful day!

2 WIPs

Good morning and Happy Sunday! I've caught a cold, so I'm planning to stay in today and stay warm! It's a rainy day anyway so it's the perfect weather to stay inside. Below are 2 paintings in my journals that I've been working on. The first is in a new altered book that I bought while in Florida.

This watercolor painting has been fun so far.

We babysat our oldest grandson, Grant last Sunday, and he did this painting for his mom and dad for Valentine's Day.

Next Sunday we will head over to my daughters house, so no doubt I will have pictures of her family to show!
Have a wonderful day everyone, and please join us at Sophia's for Sunday Sketches!

Good morning! I've been working on my body and faces for Jane's class this week, plus I painted one of them from last week.

and here are a few of my other sketches...

She's hard to see, but I like how she turned out. I might paint and add her to this background:

I'll be linking up to Sunday Sketches today and I hope you will join me in checking out the other artists blogs to see what they have been creating this week! (link on the right)

New Sketches from Classwork

Good morning all and welcome to this weeks submission for Sunday Sketches with Sophia! I hope you will join us this week! Here are a few sketches I've been working on while taking I Heart Drawing with Jane Davenport.

This last one, has a quick sketch I did for a card for my mom. She fell recently, and is planning to have knee surgery. The image on the right is the one I want to use on her card.

I'm not sure what the card will say, but something like "This is what you will be able to do once you have your knee surgery!"
I'm heading over to my daughters for the day, so it might be a little late before I get around to visit everyone today!
Have a great day!

New Sketches

Good morning! I was busy the last couple of weeks with the holidays and family visiting, and I've missed everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and the new year will be filled with happiness and creative fun! Below are a couple of new sketches from the class I'm taking:

I also played last night in my art journal with water colors:

I didn't mention this before Christmas, but I had a cancer scare! I finally had my first mammogram and 10 days later, I received a note in the mail saying there was something showing that needed to be further examined. I went for another mammogram and then an ultra sound on Dec. 27th, a whole month later! I had a few sleepless nights, waiting for that date, but thank God, the 2 spots turned out to be benign! I hope everyone, will take the time to have a mammogram each year. I never should have waited this long to have my first one!
Well, I'm heading over to Sophia's blog to join in the Sunday Sketches fun! I hope you will join me! Happy Sunday!!
