Hello and happy Sunday! I worked on 2 more projects this week from the 2 classes I am taking. I also finished the giraffe that I was making for our local DSS. Our church group, are making blankets, and other items to give to York County Social Service sometime in November. So far, I've made two paintings and now this giraffe.
I have the material for a fleece blanket, and hopefully will get started on it this week.
I also finished these 2 paintings in my art journal:
I have 2 more I want to start. These classes have really given me so much inspiration! I'm really loving them both.
I'm linking with Sunday Sketches again this week. I hope you will join me!

Two New Classes!
Good morning and Happy Sunday! My husband bought me 2 new classes for my upcoming birthday next month! Animalitos with Tracy Verdugo and Happy Painting with Juliette Crane. I haven't finished either class, but I've tried a few paintings in my journal. The first is from Tracy's class; what a talented lady!
The next are from Juliette's class, which has been fun, but her style is not that easy to pick up on. Not that I want to duplicate her exact paintings, but just learning the looseness that I love about her paintings is difficult. This first one is my favorite, although I wasn't happy with the leaves in the tree.
This next was a little too brown, and I was sorry I covered up too much of the blue. At least the flower and sun are cute!
And the last is just a little scary! The only part I really like is the background and her dress. Oh well, I just have to keep trying. I always think I will learn something the first time, but it always takes more practice.
At least practicing is most of the fun! Lol!
I haven't mentioned that my son is expecting his 3rd child in February! Part of the reason for learning to make animals, is because I wanted to make a new book for the baby, like I have the other 4 grandkids. I don't really have any solid ideas yet, but my next animal will be a deer. I'll show you next week how it turned out!
I'm heading out for a walk with a friend, and will be around to visit once I return. As always, I'm linking with Sunday Sketches! Have a great week and God bless!xo

My Hope Is In The Lord
Good morning and Happy Sunday! I found out Friday that I have Fuchs, which is a disease of the cornea. I have to use eye drops twice a day and hope it doesn't get worse, or I will need surgery. 2 of my sisters have it and so did my dad and mom, so I wasn't surprised that I have it too. So what did I do about it? A painting of course...called Hope.

Feeling Better...At Last!
Hello all! It's been a while since I posted, but it's taken me a long time to feel better. I still have some neck pain, (which turned out to be a bulging disk!) but everyday its a little better. I've been busy painting and sketching. This is just a small sample, and more will be posted as I have time.

Sketching At Starbucks!
Good morning! I've been spending some time trying to do live sketches of people at Starbucks this week. The overstuffed chair in the corner was my favorite spot to sit where I could observe and sketch unnoticed> Here are a few of the sketches:
I hope to go again so maybe I'll have more next Sunday. I'm linking with Sunday Sketches this week!(see link on the right) Have a wonderful week all.

New Sketch for SS!
Good morning and Happy Sunday! I've been wanting to do another oil painting of my son's kids for quite some time, and finally got the picture printed out yesterday. I've started on the sketch too:
Here is the original picture I'm using:
I could really use your prayers, as I was sick then got a rash that is painful. The Dr's are checking me for allergies and a virus, but I don't know yet what is wrong. It's been a very scary week since I broke out.
I'm linking with Sunday Sketches today, and hope you will join me in seeing what other artists are making. Have a good week!

Happy New Year!
Goodmorning and I hope everyone has a blessed New Year in 2015! I felt like I accomplished so much that I've been wanting to do in 2014, but still have a long way to go. I always try to find time to create everyday, but that seems like an unrealistic goal, with work and all. One of my goals, is to try to work more with oil paints. How about you? Any new goals for the new year?
Below is a painting I started several months ago, and finally have it at least close to being finished. It's from a dream I had many years ago. I showed it to a couple of friends, but they didn't seem to like it. I couldn't tell if it was the subject or its just a horrible painting. (I admit the wings need some more work!) What do you think?
I've been sketching more. Here are just a couple.

I've Missed Sunday Sketches!!
Hello dear friends, I've been away for a while, working on the vendor fairs then Christmas. I've really missed my blog friends, and today I am linking with SS. Below is a painting I've been working on, I think it's almost finished.
The vendor fairs were fun, but only 1 of them was really worth the time and table fee. All in all, I made enough from the 3 shows to pay for my husbands ear phones he wanted, so I considered the time spent a success.
On the sad side, we have had a family fight and we didn't see my son during the holidays. As with most cases its very complicated and I won't go into detail, but we miss him and his family.
On the bright side, we spent Christmas with my daughter and her in-laws for a really fun Christmas! Here are a few of the pictures from the visit:
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year!

Another Vendor Fair
Hello everyone! I have been working like crazy again, preparing for another vendor fair next Saturday. It's at a local Lutheran Church. If anyone is in the Fort Mill, SC area, I hope you will stop by and visit me! Here are a few of the projects I've been working on:

Last Painting Before The Show
Hello and Happy Friday! I had time to finish one last painting.
I had a presale at my office yesterday, and sold a few paintings, one of my boxes and a necklace. That was so encouraging! I'm praying to sell more tomorrow.
I'm linking to Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. Have a great weekend everyone!

Painting Like Crazy!
Good morning all! I'm still painting as much as I can to get ready for the vendor show next weekend. Here is my newest painting:
I love the red poppies and white flowers, but not too crazy about the purple. What do you think? Should I try to take that off? It's in oil, so there might still be time.

Home From The Beach
Hello everyone! We had a wonderful time at the beach but I'm back now, working like crazy in my craft room to get more paintings ready for the show in October. Only 2 weeks left to prepare! Yikes! Here is a painting I finally finished:
And here are the starting sketches of 2 more that I hope to finish this weekend.
I know it's fall, but I couldn't resist at least one beach painting! I tried to sketch people on the beach everyday we were there, and got some really good ideas for paintings. Do you think it's too late for a beach painting?
I'm linking to PPF and SS! I hope you will join me! Love to you all!

More Picture Frames for PPF and SS
Good morning! I'm still working on painting frames this week for the show in October. Here are a couple of them:
The first is watercolor and the second is acrylic. I'm still going to paint flowers and birds on the second frame, but probably not until after we return from the beach. This is our week to go to Myrtle Beach! Yah!! We are always so excited to make this trip. I'll only take a few art supplies, as I usually am too busy to draw anyway. My daughter and her family will meet us there on Sunday and stay until Wednesday. We are looking forward to play with the grandkids in the sand and water. It will be my grandson's 5th birthday so we will also celebrate with cake and gifts for him.
I'm linking with Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches. Thanks to both for hosting each week. Have a wonderful week everyone!

PPF and SS
Goodmorning! I haven't linked to PPF in such a long time, and I really miss everyone! Same with SS...I've only posted a couple of times during the summer. It's been a busy summer! I'm getting ready for the fall vendor show and here are a few things I've been working on: A mirror, picture frame,...
and 2 new boxes...
I really am having fun with new surfaces to be creative with. The best news in the last week in our town; we got a new Michael's and it's right down the street from where I live! (well, good news for me, not such good news for my husband. lol!)

A Special Gift for Mom
Good morning and happy Sunday! I'm linking with SS today, and hope you will join me! (see link on the right)I've been working on my mom's 90th birthday gift and finally finished it.
The writing under the painting, is my father's. He wrote special notes inside of my sisters bibles and they sent a picture of the writing to me. He also kept journals that are included on the inside of the box. I covered the writings with velum paper, that had a print of my art. It was a lot (and I mean a LOT) of gluing, but I'm happy with the finished piece.
I'm heading over to Alexandra's place for Sunday Sketches this week! I can't wait to see what everyone else has been working on.
Happy week everyone!

A Busy Month!
Goodmorning and Happy Sunday! July was such a busy month, and I realized recently I hadn't had time to post in several weeks! I've been busy painting, mostly watercolors, and I experimented with papers and canvas together.
I taught a class to some of my friends during July and we all painted poppies together!
The gladiolas in this picture, were a practice for some that I gave a good friend who is going through a difficult time. Her's turned out even better.
We had an afternoon with my son and his family in July:
Then last weekend, we babysat for my daughters kids!
This is just a little of what has been happening lately. Other then this, we've had to install a new a/c and heating unit in our home, my car had repairs, plus needs a major repair, and I"m working on my mom's 90th birthday present! Whew!
What's been happening in your life this summer?

Happy 4th of July!
Hello and Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans! I don't have a patriotic painting this week, but I did take a little time to work on something new. This was done on wood, and it's a wip.
I've been on vacation this week, but we didn't go anywhere. My husband had to work, so I stayed at home and worked in my garden and did some spring cleaning. Today is a day off, and hopefully we will spend some time with my son and his family.
What are your plans for the holiday?

Slowly Working On A New Painting
Hello all and Happy Friday! I haven't had a chance to link to Paint Party Friday in a while, and I'm glad to finally have time in the morning for a post! I've been working on this painting for a while now, but seem to get stalled out, then it sits for days while I try to decide what else to do with it. It's still not finished, as I want to fix the angels face a little more.
\
I took my husband to the beach last weekend for his birthday. (North Myrtle Beach) We only had 2 nights there, but it was so relaxing we can't wait for our week in September.
It's been 1 year since my husband had his heart attack, and thank God he is doing well!
My arm and ribs are almost completely healed so I am trying to go to the gym again.
Well, that's all for now. I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone both at PPF and SS! I hope you will join me!

Finally Feeling Better!
Hello and Happy Sunday! My arm is finally feeling bettr, and I was able to paint again! Yah! Below is the painting I started before my accident...finished!
I'm giving this to my friends who knew Jackie, in memory of her.
I also started another painting, but I'm a little stuck on it. So I quess I'll just start painting over the sections I'm not that crazy about and see what happens. Here is what I like so far:
Not much of a start, but hopefully more will get finished this week.

An Accident
Last Sunday, on Mothers Day, I slipped and fell in my bathroom. I went to the emergency room to get my arm x-rayed, and thank God, it turned out to only be a sprain. Unfortunately its my right arm, making mosts tasks harder since I am of course, right handed. I couldn't stay away from my paints all week so i tried to paint left handed.
Not my best work, but it was fun trying to paint left handed!
I'm linking as always with PPF and SSs. Have a good week all!
